Lisa W.

Great post and greetings from eastern Canada!

Mark

I never expected this, Houston. I guess I never really got a chance to get to know you well enough, and that IS a shame.

You might be particularly interestedd in my latest post, by the way, if you're willing to have a look. In fact, I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject.

War is hell, and it is a shitty deal for ALL children.

Shabbat shalom.

Kathy

I am so with you on this one.

Hope you are enjoying what's left of your summer, miserable here down south, but pretty nice in northern CA from my short visit during some of the worst of the heat.

Be well.

Aren't you precious? It's so black and white for you.

personally, i cringe at the people who hold Israel to lofty standards of political correctness all while giving Hezbollah and the like blanket passes to act like despots and murderers. Hezbollah purposefully places themselves among civilians, knowing full well they will receive return fire and those innocent civilian lives will be lost. likewise, when Hezbollah fires on Israel, they fire specifically to kill civilians. you do not see them trying to take out roads or headquarters, you see them trying to kill innocent women and children who have done nothing else but be Jewish. why Israel is held to a higher standard when they respond when attacked is beyond me, and smacks clearly of bigotry.

Israel didn't ask for this war. Israel's presence in the Middle East is not a result of manifest destiny---they have a right to be there, just as others do. they have been willing time and again to negotiate, to give land, to allow a Palestinian state, but nothing is good enough for anybody, ever. And now they are not even allowed to fight back and defend themselves. They should just sit there and die?

Israel recently told anti-semitic Europe to stop preaching; hoorah for that. The same goes for every other armchair politician out there who thinks they know what it's like to be a Jew in Israel and fight for your place in the world, when the world, evidently, and for no apparent reason, hates you.
